“Am I too old for CrossFit?” is one of the most common questions we hear — usually from someone in their 40s or 50s standing at the door, already half-convinced the answer is yes.
Here's our answer: the owner of this gym competes in the CrossFit Games Masters division — 121st worldwide in the 2026 Semifinals, Women's 45–49 — and still coaches on the floor every day. Age is not the barrier people think it is.
From our 40s onward we naturally lose muscle mass and bone density unless we actively fight for them — and the fight is strength training. Lifting builds and preserves the muscle, bone and balance that keep you independent for decades. The barbell isn't the risky option after 40. The couch is.
What you see on TV is the sport. What happens in a class is training — and every single workout scales. Same movement patterns, adjusted load, adjusted intensity, adjusted range. In one class you'll see a 25-year-old squatting 100kg and a 55-year-old squatting to a box, doing the same workout, both working exactly as hard as they should be.
Our members span a huge range of ages, and some of the most consistent athletes in the gym are on the far side of 45. They didn't arrive fit. They arrived, then got fit.
